HYPERACTIVE & ATTENTION DEFICIT

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is marked by a persistent pattern (lasting at least 6 months) of inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity, with onset typically in early to mid-childhood. These behaviors exceed what's developmentally appropriate and significantly disrupt academic, social, or occupational functioning.

Inattention involves difficulty sustaining focus on low-stimulation or unrewarding tasks, frequent distractibility, and poor organization.

Hyperactivity is seen as excessive movement and trouble staying still, especially in structured settings.

Impulsivity reflects a tendency to act quickly without thinking about consequences.

Symptoms vary in type and intensity among individuals and may shift over time. For diagnosis, these behaviors must be clearly present in multiple settings (e.g., home and school).
